Pressured to marry Mr Wrong, can she wed Mr Right by Christmas?
Orphaned heiress and debutant, Lauren Edwards, yearns for a loving husband, a home, and a family, but she's in love with her guardian, who acts like a fond uncle. When Lauren discovers the earl to whom she is engaged will never relinquish his mistress, it's time to take her future into her own hands.
Sir Oliver Masterton, Lauren's guardian, wants to avoid the mistake his father made of marrying a debutant, but he's secretly in love with his ward.
Can Lauren convince him to set aside all his pre-conceptions about marriage, outrun her pursuing relatives, and be happily married by Christmas?

Enjoyable Holiday Story
Lauren’s family wants a title, her betrothed won’t give up his mistress; he just wants her dowry, Lauren wants to marry for love. Her socially greedy family doesn’t care. When they refuse her pleas to end the betrothal, she decides to escape. Sir Oliver, her father’s best friend and one of her guardians, goes looking for her.
Lauren has been in love with Oliver since she was sixteen. He has been in love with her for at least a year. He resists the pull because he is older and her guardian, and because he fears a marriage like his parents. The chemistry between them is strong and sweet. How can Lauren convince him that they will be happy? This is a short, sweet holiday story with wonderful characters. I love Lauren, Oliver, Maisie, and Charlie the dog. There is a bit of excitement when Lauren’s relatives catch up to them, but they get what they deserve. A good story and a happy ending. I enjoyed it.
