Second Chance Love
For many years, Maggie and Brooks spend every summer glued to one another. Their grandmothers were good friends. They were best friends. However, as Maggie was finishing up high school, their feelings grew. They were happy. Brooks went back to the city for his father's birthday but when he returned to Maggie, he was different. He let Maggie go, broke her heart, and left their little beach town. Twelve years later, he is back but Maggie doesn't want to have anything to do with him. Brook's grandmother is dying and her dying wish is for Maggie and Brooks to get married. Will Brooks be able to win Maggie's heart again or will she push him away for good.
Such a great second chance love story. You will fall in love with these characters and hurt for their them and their past mistakes. Baxter always does a wonderful job of creating characters with depth and then throwing in great secondary characters as well. She writes with feeling and humor making her stories relatable and enjoyable. I love everything about this book!
