Publisher Description
Mary Louise Burrows is a young girl and a great detective. She is smart, cunning and always finds a way to solve the mystery with the help of her friend Josie O’Gorman.
In this book, third in the series, Mary Louise and Josie appear late in the book. At the beginning, we learn about the sad story of Alora Jones. Her mother died when she was 11 years old, leaving all her fortune and Alora in the care of her ex-husband, Jason Jones, who Alora had never seen him before. He was a secretive, sullen man who didn’t take care of Alora, and forced her to live with him in an Italian villa.
On the road to Italy, is where we see Mary Louise for the first time in the book. She travels to Italy with her grandfather in a train. On the same train are also Alora and her father. Being a nice and friendly as she is, Mary Louise becomes close to Alora and starts feeling that there is something secretive going on and tries to find out what’s behind the weird relationship between Alora and her father.
When Alora is kidnaped, the truth leads to the time when her parents were together, and it is up to Mary Louise and her friend Josie to reveal it.
