An official tie-in to the hit video game Mass Effect: Andromeda, written by award-winning and New York Times bestselling author Catherynne M. Valente

An official tie-in to the hit video game Mass Effect: Andromeda by James Tiptree Jr. and Locus Award-winner Catherynne M. Valente.

The Quarian ark Keelah Si'yah sails toward the Andromeda galaxy, carrying 20,000 colonists from sundry races including the drell, the elcor, and the batarians. Thirty years from their destination, a routine check reveals drell lying dead in their pods, and a deadly pathogen on board. Soon, the disease is jumping species, and it quickly becomes clear that this is no accident. It's murder, and the perpetrator is still on board.

The ship's systems rapidly degrade, and panic spreads among the colonists, for the virus yields a terrible swelling of the brain that causes madness, hallucinations, and dreadful violence. If the ship's crew can't restore their technology and find a cure, the Keelah Si'yah will never make it to the Nexus.

Rossgeek333 ,

A good book, with some pacing issue/s, but worth the read!

Mass effect and Quarian fans will love it! I also unlike so many other people enjoyed mass effect andromeda and this gives you a sample of what happened to their ark. I will say my only critic is the book has some pacing issues one minute nothing is happening and the next the whole story unravels but again a good book worth reading!

The Whazzapp Odyssey ,

A satisfying mystery solved!

For quite some time there have been many mysteries that Mass Effect has not answered. But fortunately with well written installments like this we can still feel we are right there with the familiar races of the series. The in-depth descriptions, over all story and dialogue really made me immerse and feel like this is a true Mass Effect story. Because it is one. I want more and hope to see more in the future.

TheDovahmoose ,

This is a slow, uninspiring and predictable story.

It’s only redeeming quality is a couple of good characters. Also, it brings no closure to the plight of the Ark, just how it got messed up.
