Master Czech A1 - BÝT

DO YOU WANT TO RESIDE IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC?


A person who wants to obtain a Czech permanent residence permit needs to pass an exam in the Czech language. Currently (in 2020), it is the A1 level, although it is going to be changed to A2 some time soon. (As far as I know, it has not been confirmed yet.) However, to achieve the A2 level, you need to master the lower A1 first, anyway.


TO BE, OR NOT TO BE... GET READY FOR THE EXAM!


In this little book, we'll focus on the verb BÝT, that is TO BE, as the basic and most frequently used verb in Czech (and probably in most other languages as well). This is intended as a self-study handbook, perhaps close to phrase books, but it concentrates on what you need for the A1 exam.


Besides some basic information about related grammar, you'll find many many examples of the verb's use in the context of the A1 exam, so when you read through this book, your vocabulary will be much richer and you'll know many useful words and phrases, not just the verb BÝT itself.


FIRST A LITTLE GRAMMAR, THEN A LOT OF EXAMPLES


In the first part of this little book, you'll find some grammatical notes on the verb BÝT. On the A1 level, you're not expected to learn and remember all that, but I think it doesn't hurt to have a look and get an idea. The rest of the book focuses on the A1 level and the thematic areas outlined in the detailed description of the level for the purposes of the exam for permanent residence permit in the Czech Republic.
