Good information but contains too many typos

This book saved me a lot of time digesting Apple’s documentation. It contains good information and presents it well.

There are quite a few typographical errors. However, all things considered, it’s a good book and the mispellings did not prevent me from learning the topics it presented.

Mastering The Spritekit Framework

I found this book very helpful in learning how to use Spritekit. As a part time programmer I don't have a lot of time to research Apple's documentation. This book has done that for me and will be a valuable reference for me as I work on my next game.

Not worth $24

I don't normally write bad reviews, but I feel like I was taken for $24. Much of the book doesn't provide much more information than Apple's tutorials, and in some cases seems adapted from them. There's no deep discussion of the relationship of SKViews and SKNodes, how to solve common problems like making things play nice with layout code, etc. That, along with the poor editing ("... confirms to protocol...") and informal tone ("Do you know why?" No, I don't. That's why I bought a book. Just tell me.) made for an unpleasurable, albeit quick (made it through in an hour and a half) read.

The information presented at least, as far as I can tell, isn't wrong. So, I'll give it two stars. But if you have $24 burning a hole in your pocket, just go buy yourself dinner.
