More than Meets the Eye
Wow! I can't believe I let this book languish in my To-be Read "pile" for sooo long! Man that was a huge mistake. This book was not what I was expecting and it exceeded the expectations I did have. With a name like "Masters of Seduction" and main characters that are Incubi, I didn't think there would be much of a plot, just lots of sex with some flimsy circumstances. You know, Skinamax on paper (or iPad in my case). I couldn't have been more wrong. Instead of just wham bam, thank you ma'am, I found a strong overarching plot and storyline. These four authors created a complex world and seamlessly built on it from one story to the next. I am amazed at how a character introduced in one story, appears in another, with no inconsistencies (which is a challenge). And these characters have depth and complexity. I loved how each author created these characters which should just want to "give and receive power and pleasure" - one of my favorite lines "We take power and provide pleasure. Your kind gives power and receives pleasure." It would have been so easy to make this a simple story and just spend time on the pleasure (trust me that's not missing either!). I wish these stories were longer because I want to know more about each of these characters. I can't wait to dive into the next book (which has also been languishing in the same To Be read pile) and learn more about this universe and what other characters are out there.
