.

An excellent exploration on psychological themes: self versus other, familial love, grief, depression and despair. Careful word choice and construction fully convey the protagonist’s thoughts and emotions, e.g., “In truth I am in love with death….”, “…to my happiness followed madness and agony, closed by despair.”
The final chapter seemed a bit disjointed and incongruous to the rest of the book, but it is still a very worthy read.

Good but...

Her descriptive qualities are sparkling in nature but the ending left me wanting more. There was no point at which her death was described or made clear. It was abrupt and unwritten in the story. At one point she was sick and death was implied to be coming and then the next minute she was writing after death experiences. No word on actually dying. I found that strange and lacking.
