Currently, education poses the very real risk of teaching our children to simply become human robots at a time when we need them to be more individual than ever. Many well-respected education systems and curriculums around the globe are still primarily about teaching children to memorise knowledge and rote learning, all of which will be easily replicated by robots in the very near future

Last year one of the parents of a child at my school asked me, “as a mother of a young child, what would you do to ensure your child is best prepared for the future world of work Julie?” This made me wonder, what would I do? As a consequence, “Me, My Child and Robots” was conceived with the aim of helping us to master the unique qualities that make us distinctly human. The qualities that machines presently cannot easily replicate.

This eBook: “Me, My child and Robots: What if we are getting this very, very wrong……..” has been deliberately designed and written for busy, ‘time poor’ parents and people. It sets out a personal view on how a world dominated by robots and artificial intelligence will potentially impact on us and our children in the future, suggesting how education should now be responding and what we can do to support our children in the meantime.
