Descripción editorial
In this New York Times bestselling thriller, a doctor is kidnapped in the mountain wilderness after a fight with her husband -- and as the FBI closes in, she must make dangerous choices to survive.
Dr. Emory Charbonneau, a pediatrician and marathon runner, disappears on a mountain road in North Carolina minutes after an argument with her husband Jeff. But by the time he reports her missing, the trail has (literally) gone cold. Fog and ice encapsulate the wilderness and freeze the search.
While police suspect Jeff of "instant divorce," Emory regains consciousness only to find herself the captive of a man whose violent past is so dark he won't even tell her his name. She's willing to take any risks necessary to survive.
But before she can escape, the two encounter dangerous people who adhere to their own code of justice. A desperate young woman is caught at the center of a dispute, and Emory can't bring herself to look the other way, even if it means breaking the law. Rising tension and barely restrained passion blurs the lines between right and wrong, and Emory begins to wonder if the man with no name is the one who has rescued her from death . . . and from heartbreak.
Combining the nail-biting suspense and potent storytelling that has made Sandra Brown one of the world's best-loved authors, Mean Streak is a wildly compelling novel about love, deceit, and the choices we must make when our lives are on the line.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
At the start of this solid novel of romantic suspense from bestseller Brown (Deadline), heiress Emory Charbonneau, a successful Atlanta-based pediatrician, disappears while training for a marathon; the police, along with her colleagues and husband, are soon engaged in efforts to locate her. Awakening after a painful collapse, Charbonneau finds herself in the remote cabin of a handsome, nameless man. While he doesn't restrain her, he does refuse to drive her to her car, citing inclement weather. She's distrustful of the claim that he has no phone and begins to question his motives. A parallel plotline involving FBI agent Jack Connell's search for a man involved with a deadly incident intersects with Charbonneau's predicament, casting further suspicions on her captor. Florid prose and problematic power dynamics render sex scenes more troubling than titillating, but Brown ends her gone-girl narrative with a surprising denouement that hits the reader like a well-aimed blow to the back of the head.

OMG!
I loved this book! Yes, I am a female, does that make a difference? I don't think so! The story line was awesome, moved quickly, never left me feeling bored. Loved every moment. Wished there was another 200 hundred pages. Can we bring these characters back? Thank you so much!
Mean Streak
I've read all her books from her earliest Harlequin publications.
This book had so many twists and turns, I loved it. It caught me from the first chapter to the end.
Sandra Brown does it again
As expected, Sandra Brown hit one out of the park with Mean Streak. Lots of twists, turns and surprises. Couldn't read it fast enough but couldn't read it slow enough either. Wanted to hurry up and know what happened at the same time I didn't want it to end. A must read for Sandra Brown fans.
