Dirty Love series #2
He doesn't do commitment. She's his dead friend's wife. They can never be more than friends.
Piper Stevens had already met—and lost—the love of her life. When she buried her husband, she buried her chance for a happily ever after…but also found a shoulder to lean on in Nate.
As a commitment-phobe womanizer, Nate Hall has never had a female as a friend, but he made a promise to his buddy before he passed. Take care of Piper.
And these days? He can't imagine his life without her.
Now, a year later, things Piper thought were long gone are beginning to come back.
Like her previously healthy libido.
Except she can't picture dating someone in her husband's place, nor can she sleep with a stranger either.
So, she turns to Nate. After all, he's the perfect choice. He's her friend but also a player. He cares about her but they'll never fall in love…and she won't get hurt. Not like she did when she lost her husband.
But sometimes the universe has other plans. Like bringing together two people who were meant to be together.
Meant to Be was previously published under the title Nasty (Naughty #2).

Lost a husband but gained a best friend
Nate and Piper's husband were in a car accident a year ago and within minutes Piper was a widow at 28. Nate made a death bed promise to take care of Piper, but that doesn't include the ways he's been dreaming of taking care of her.
Piper and Nate have been best friends since he death of her husband. Over the past year, he's been there for her, whether it's being a shoulder to cry on or helping to finish the backyard deck. And speaking of the backyard deck, Nate doesn't always wear a shirt when he's working, which has started to awaken Piper's libido. Piper decides she wants to start dating and enjoy sex again. After a disaster of a first date with a married man (the guys is lying scum) she proposes an arrangement with Nate.
I really liked the progression of their relationship and how both of them needed to acknowledge that just because Piper loved her husband, doesn't mean that she can't now love Nate.
This was my first read by these authors and it can be read as a stand alone, even though characters from the previous book play a minor role in this one. Highly recommend and will be reading Dirty to catch up on Luke and Elise's backstory.
