William James was born on January 11, 1842, in New York City. He was an American philosopher and psychologist, also trained physician. He was considered as one of the most stimulating and insightful philosophers of America and the second of the three great pragmatics of all times.
He was one of the leading thinkers of the late 19th century and was seen as the "Father of American psychology".
Throughout his life, he wrote a lot of essays and lectures which focused on the development of his own philosophy.
Due to problems with his heart, he died on August 26, 1910.
This book was published after his death, by his son Henry James. It is a collection of William James’ speeches and essays, which have already been published in magazines.
