An idiot’s guide to falling for your best friend’s widow…
Former rugby star Isaac Ngata was New Zealand’s golden boy until five years ago when a tragic accident took the life of his friend and team mate. Now he’s a pariah with a screwed up knee and a burden of guilt toward his friend’s wife and daughter. Best thing for him to do is sink into the anonymous safety of his hometown. An even better thing to do would be to stop picturing Natalie in his arms.
For someone who doesn’t know a dummy pass from a drop kick, Natalie Fisher just wants to keep her late husband’s passion for sport in the past. But their teenage daughter’s rugby team is in desperate need of a coach and the man she can’t stand to be around has volunteered. A long buried attraction flares to life between Natalie and Isaac, one they can’t run far or fast enough to avoid. Soon rugby fever isn’t the only thing heating up Bounty Bay. Crossing the line never had such high stakes…

Gotta love a man big on family tradition!!!
This fabulous book 4 in the Bounty Bay series features Nat Fisher and Isaac Ngata. It's been years since the accident and life has been hard for Isaac. Being in love with your deceased best friend's wife and keeping a HUGE secret to spare her any more grief is difficult. Isaac is a wonderful man AND he's an ex-All Black! All these years she's held a grudge against him for the accident but spending time with him coaching her daughters rugby team helps her see him in a more forgiving light and...a more sexy light! It's time for them both to come to terms with what really happened that night.
I highly recommend the series as it is full of love, family, sexy, good looking and hard-working men. There's also a lot of sparks between those sexy men and the women they can't get enough of. I can't wait for my next visit to Stewart Island.
Such a great book!! Definitely recommend!
Yet another book by Tracey Alvarez where I want to get to find out what happens but desperately want to slow time down so I don't have to be done reading! Oh and I can't forget that she once again makes me want to spend time in New Zealand!!
Natalie lost her rugby playing husband, Jackson, in an accident that Issac was also involved in, creating some major tension between the two characters. When Natalie's daughter, Olivia, needs a coach for her school rugby team Olivia decides to ask former rugby player, Issac, which leads to unavoidable interactions between Natalie and Issac. The entire time I read I couldn't help but wonder exactly what was going on in the relationship between the three of them (Natalie, Issac, and Jackson because even though Jackson had died he is definitely still a factor here). Jackson and Issac had been best friends since they were younger and Natalie and Issac used to be close friends. The accident changed it all but now, five years later, they are slowly venturing into more than friends territory.
Of course the path from tension to romance is not one without many bumps in the road for this pair, but it's an enjoyable ride along with them. I loved the book and the little bits of information on New Zealand and Maori culture! I can't wait to read about what happens next in Bounty Bay!!
I received an ARC copy of this book but that did not influence my review in any way. The opinion expressed here is my own and the excitement I get every time I see a new one of these books is all thanks to Ms. Alvarez!! Another wonderful book in a great series! (The Steward Island series is just as amazing too!)
