Publisher Description
Meridian Six remembers the days before the Troika enslaved humans. She also remembers her mother, a freedom fighter who was murdered in the final battle between humans and vampires. But it is her mother’s final words that have haunted her:
Red means life.
When M6 finally runs from the vampires who’ve held her captive, she finds herself used by her own race. Because in a world at war, freedom is a luxury paid for in blood.

Really great (and quick) read for lovers of YA & fantasy!
What would you do if vampires suddenly took over the world, forcing all humans into blood camps caste by blood type and yours was considered ‘most desirable’? That’s the reality Carmina Sargosa (known to her vampire captors as “Meridian Six”) is faced with in this fast-paced short story. I haven’t read much vampire fiction before but I loved this story and the characters (both human and vampire) that make up this dystopian world. Six reminded me a lot of Katniss Everdeen from Hunger Games—she’s tough and will do whatever it takes to protect the people she cares about—but she’s also a reluctant rebel who’s thrust to the centerfold of a resistance that she hadn’t intended to be a part of in the first place. A really great (and quick) read for lovers of YA & fantasy novels!
