Metatron and the Sapphire Stone

This book is the English version of a rare and scholarly exposition on obscure biblical subject matter. One chapter explains how part of Adam’s soul fled from him just before he sinned, and how it coalesced into a supernal consciousness known as (the Angel) Metatron. Another chapter examines the nature and purpose of this unique entity who is also known as the Angel of [God’s] Presence. This is the angel that measures the deeds of men and guards the Throne of Glory from those unworthy to approach their Creator. Other chapters explain the connection between Metatron and a certain ‘cube' of sapphire attributed to creation. Still others show how the measure of various geometric aspects of 'the stone,' known to Kabbalists as the Socheret Ve’dar, correlate with the name of Metatron; and how all of these things are mathematically connected to God’s Explicit Name. One chapter shows how the Sapphire Stone was divided into two halves which were 'brought down’ by Moses as the Tablets of the Covenant. There are also chapters that graphically demonstrate how all of these things correlate with very specific measurements of the universe, all of which serves to reveal how the measure of the stone’s geometry in combination with the 216 letters of the Explicit Name, quite literally “rule" over things like the laws of physics, celestial dynamics, etc. The book is replete with quotes and explanations of quotes from such works as the Zohar, Or HaSekhel, Chayay Olam HaBah and other esoteric literature, as well as graphics and models to illustrate its assertions. The book starts much like a simple children's book providing basic background information, but it quickly evolves into complex subject matter dealing with math and science.
