Turkish PM: 51 Deals Are First Milestone in Syria Ties Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the Turkish-Syrian High Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting on December 23, was the first milestone on a long road. The meeting attended by Erdogan and his Syrian counterpart Mohammed Naji Otari ended in the Syrian capital city of Damascus, the Beirut-based newspapers reported the December 24. Speaking at the closure of the meeting, Erdogan, who also held talks with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, said the agreements signed must be implemented so that a legacy would be left to future generations. Otari said that the discussions had rich content.
