In this cozy mystery by the USA Today–bestselling author of Murder at Archly Manor, a professional organizer on vacation takes a side trip into murder
Military wife Ellie Avery planned a perfect family getaway: fun in the sun on Florida’s Gulf Coast, with a side visit to the eBay vendor who’d mistakenly sent her the wrong handbag. But what should have been a simple exchange turns into a fatal transaction when Ellie discovers “Angela495” floating face-down in her pool.
With some savvy snooping, Ellie learns that Angela’s dangerous double life included blackmail, compromising photos, and a scandalous secret that threatens a local celeb. When a kidnapping shatters her family’s safety, Ellie leaves the white sands behind to face down a killer whose warm Southern charm masks a cold, cold heart.
Includes great tips for super family vacations!

Sara Rosett keeps me coming back for more!
"Milkshakes, Mermaids and Murder" is the eighth book in the Ellie Avery (Mom-Zone) mystery series. The character of Ellie is one that every mother can identify with, even though she always seems to find herself in complex situations that require her to use her organizational skills and keen intelligence to solve a mystery. Ellie can't even avoid these situations while on vacation. Each time Sara releases another Ellie Avery book, I put aside what I'm currently reading in order to catch up with the characters that she has masterfully created. Can't wait for the next one!
Great read!
I have really enjoyed this series. Ellie is an Air Force spouse so a lot of the books are military-centric, but this one takes place at the beach during a family vacation and might appeal to a wider audience. The book is also self contained so you don't have to have read the other 7 to enjoy this one. Most of the action takes place during one day so I found the pace a little faster than previous books. I kept thinking Ellie needed a Dropbox account, but that would have made for a short book. Ironically, Dropbox is mentioned in one of the tips at the end of the chapters.
Overall I thought this was a great read!
