Publisher Description
Writer Mabel Wainwright is taking up residence in the small town of Menton so she can write her next book.
She thinks it's the perfect little town to find some peace and quiet and work.
What she doesn't expect is to find a town that centers around domestic discipline, even if you are an unmarried woman.
Sheriff Will Bates will guide Mabel in her new life. Will what is supposed to be a temporary move turn into something more permanent? And can Will save Mabel from a man from her past that has followed her to her new home?

Mind me Mae
The worst book I ever read, had no real story to it, it’s really hard today to picture that share of him, the girl excepting that. She give us our money back.
Misogynistic, sexist, infuriating
Absolutely the most condescending book I have ever had the displeasure of reading. I had to skip several parts as they had me seeing red.
Will the sheriff of small town USA puts himself in charge of keeping Mabel in line. The male town members believe that a woman is incapable of caring for herself either mentally, physically or emotionally. So every female has to have a male in charge of her. Shockingly Mabel accepts this with very little complaint. Will tells her its for her safety she believes him even though she forced to "behave" however Will demands such as not cussing or acting unladylike. Will tells her he'll will only spank her not beat her but switches her brutally over and over again.
I can't believe someone would agree to not only live with but marry a monster like Will. The book sets women back to the time of being property. Horrible!!
