Missing Peace-Love, Life, & Me documents the author's journey from Australia to India and back again in search of herself. It's a highly personal story with real characters and a narration that interweaves passion, betrayal, humiliation, friendship, and love. It is bold, inspirational, and compelling. It describes reality and its emotional roller coaster. It's about a woman finding herself lost between two cultures and desperately seeking to belong.

Come, let's take a walk together on this journey of mine with some amazing people I met along the way and the conversations I had with them; each taught me in their own special way about love, life, and me. 


Nandita Chakraborty was born in Kolkatta, India in 1975 to a small conservative family who has always been associated with the arts. Her father won many accolades in the field of Indian Cinema. His film was the first Indian film in a regional language to win the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival in 1980. Her sense of creativity started at a young age. The whole house would be surrounded by "Camera! Action! Glamour!" Well-known artists would sometimes spark her creative mind at the dinner table or at her mother's dressing table. 

Along with her siblings, she was sent out to boarding school at the age of seven in the hills of Meghalaya, India. A few years later, the family settled in New Delhi, where she attended Sri Venketeswara University in New Delhi and she studied Political Science by day and Fashion and Visual Merchandising school by night.
