Publisher Description
Drugs. Sex. Murder. Taxes. Welcome to planet Earth.
They’re here. They’ve arrived. And they’re all eyes. The Voltarian scouting party—illegal aliens extraordinaire—on a top-secret expedition led by one Jettero Heller, Royal Officer of the Fleet.
His mission: rescue the planet from pollution—and make it safe for the upcoming invasion.
His problem: the planet may not want to be saved—and the invasion may just be a trick.
One way or another, Heller is about to undertake a journey of discovery—and it’s a real trip. From a Middle Eastern mecca of drugs—the key to a scheme to bring down the Voltarian government—to the mean streets of New York, he’s finding out what makes this world go round.
Between the Mafia wars and the brothel whores, between the ruthless IRS agents and the crazy cab drivers, between the muggings and the weapons of mass destruction, this is one learning curve that’s about to turn into a roller-coaster ride. And before it’s over, all Heller will break loose . . . in the name of BLACK GENESIS.
“Ironic, exciting, romantic and hilarious.” —Orson Scott Card
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
With this second volume, the direction and shape of Hubbard's proposed 10-book sequence, Mission Earth, are becoming clear. Instead of concentrating on the overall theme (will Earth destroy itself before the aliens can conquer it?), Hubbard emphasizes a great amount of seemingly extraneous incident to stretch out his tale into a dekalogy. In place of an epic, he offers a mock epic. This second book is a modern Candide in which alien secret agent Jettero Heller is introduced to the contemporary world in satirical strokes so broad they recall vaudeville sketches. When Heller arrives in New York City, he innocently lands a job with the Mafia, takes a room in a brothel and is taught to drive by a cabbie. Apart from one funny sequence in which FBI agents' praise of J. Edgar Hoover makes him out to be a greater con man and criminal than his targets, most of the attacks (especially on the IRS) are vengeful and humorless.

Mission Earth : Black Genesis
Great story! Second book of the series and gets better with each one. Jetero and Soltan land on Earth and the fun begins!
Addicting
This series is addicting. Seeing life as a criminal through the eyes of a criminal who is jealous of the good in successful people is a different twist. And to conceive that our civilization is the primitive one in the universe with makes you anxious to see what's next-- what goodies could the author conceive are possible that our "high tech" society knows nothing about.
Mission earth. Fun book! Great series
Looking froward to the other 8 books
