Publisher Description

In a time of interstellar exploration, the inhabitants of all planets in the universe are no longer just curious about the enchanting and diverse species on other planets. Planetary explorers are helping each other to find what is yet to be discovered. A young explorer called Mr Knightley from the planet Emovior embarks on a mission on Earth. Although he would not be the first explorer sent to the planet, he is going to experience situations and confront obstacles that none of his predecessors encountered before.

Mr Knightley’s curiosity about Earth started at a young age and he has been dreaming of venturing to this magnificent planet for a long time. Now his dream is about to become a reality. Ever since his childhood, he has developed a habit of collecting objects that remind him of meaningful memories. He believes that every collected item from a journey tells a story. So what kind of objects is he going to collect from these trips on Earth?

There are 365 days/objects/rooms/stories in Mr Knightley’s Time Capsule. Each one is a memento of Mr Knightley’s journey accompanied by a travel companion on Earth. Each one unravels as a narrative of a philosophical idea or an allegorical thought. Mr Knightley invites you to go on an adventure with him in his magical world.

A Delightful and Fanciful Story for Kids of All Ages

This book was a wonderful surprise. It’s a little bit like The Little Prince, in that it tells many little stories that seem fanciful, but also speak to some deeper truth about life. The main story about the explorer going on adventures is so engaging. He is such an innocent and curious character that it helps to naturally open the story up.

Although each adventure is only a page long, they are emotional and insightful. And the companions on the adventures seem to all be winks to some famous artist or thinker. They each have some insight about the nature of what it means to be human or about values that truly matter to live a good life.

Meanwhile, the accompanying illustrations are vibrant and funny. They are abstract and leave so much room for imagining the magical places and objects in each story. It’s a real delight.
