Christmas fulfilled

There is nothing better than curling up with a good book on a cold snowy day. Debbie Mason’s Mistletoe Cottage, the start of her new Harmony Harbor series, is a perfect choice. Written in the same style as her Christmas, Colorado, series, this book to existing fans will feel like the perfect set of slippers. New fans will love the rich history of the town, and penchant for secrets. Liam and Sophie are one of those couples destined to be together from page one. Though I would have liked her to deal a little more with the trauma some of the characters were suffering, in all it was a delightful afternoon read.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.

Sophie just got back to Harmony Harbor and so many things have already gone wrong. Her daughter is missing, her lost love is here to rescue them, and the whole town is interfering in what should be a simple move.

Liam knows that Sophie is the one that got away. If only's are all he has. He wishes he had told her how he really felt so many years ago. Maybe this is fates way of giving them a second chance.

There is plenty to love about this book. It brings in another loveable series. The characters are either laugh out loud funny, or the comedy of errors can be. There are also moments that are hot and sweet. Something for everyone!

SO freaking sweet and cute!

Sophie loved growing up in Harmony Harbor, but she left in disgrace deciding she’d not be back. But when circumstances and a fire left her homeless with her young daughter in tow, she returns. I loved that Sophie could go back to the town she loved, and with plenty of tearful reunions and many of her initial fears subdued, she’s starting to settle back in. Most of all, Mia, her daughter, is captivating and collecting the hearts of all who meet her. Now, Sophie’s large and loud family is solidly that: they love hard and hold grudges twice as long. Most notable is the feud between the two matriarchs of the clans, Irish v Italian, and the clever continuation of the battles they both missed.

Liam had always had a crush on Sophie, and seeing her again he’s now reminded of all he lost when she left before she was eighteen, and he told her just how he felt. Now, her return has brought back all of those feelings, and he’s determined to not screw it up this time. Liam is that true stand-up sort of man, always trying to do the right thing, even when it means he won’t get what he wants. But seeing Sophie again, and being captivated by the little Mia, he’s not going to take no for an answer this time.

So freaking sweet and cute: Mia is both the secret and the catalyst to much of the story. How can you not love a man (Liam) who actually takes the time to speak to her as a person, not as a child to be dismissed? And you can’t dismiss his wily grandmother whose recognition of Liam’s blue eyes in a tiny female face starts her on a mission to see her grandson happy.

With plenty of small town gossip and goodwill, lots of family interference for good and bad, and just enough atmosphere to add a touch of holiday spirit to send the sweet charm factor into overload. This is the perfect book to curl up with if you add cocoa and cookies and a cozy fire.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.
