Great Christmas novella!
What a great holiday! A group of friends on a yacht experiencing fun, sun & friendship. You know what they say about best laid plans! Everyone, except James & Hannah who used to be more than friends, are delayed. Trapped on the boat, they were forced to confront their feelings & make peace with the past.
I usually have a problem with novellas due to their short nature. It takes time to develop a relationship with the characters so that you are invested in their relationship. I really enjoyed these characters & their interactions. As James & Hannah dealt with the problems they’d been ignoring, they each had to deal with their personal issues. During the cruise they were on their own journey to understand & deal with their memories & their feelings.
Easy, holiday read!
This was a cute, quick read to get into the Christmas mood via the sun and sand. This was a friends to lovers to not sure how to define it. Both Hannah and James have to have uncomfortable discussions with their parents on top of seeing each other for the first time in years. They have some unresolved issues that they need to address. If you’re in the mood for an easy read to get into the holiday spirit, you can’t go wrong with anything by Jill Shalvis.
Escape to paradise this holiday season
We could all use a little escape to paradise this 2020 holiday season, and Mistletoe in Paradise will take you there. Not your typical Christmas novella with snow and gingerbread cookies - it’s a welcome relief to escape with Hannah and James to Christmas in the Caribbean.
Hannah and James have a history, misunderstanding, and assumptions. Throw in a little family drama for both of them and this is more than the typical feel good quick novella. And while not long in pages, you won’t feel shorted on story.
I enjoyed that there was more to the story than just a workaholic heroine and a lackadaisical world traveler.
You won’t regret picking up this little dose of sunshine from Jill Shalvis.
