Excellent guide for beginners and experienced practitioners alike

Valuable tool for both experienced and inexperienced practitioners, and it provides motivation and inspiration for daily practice. It's starts a little slow and the first half may seem a little dull for new practitioners, but the second half discusses emptiness, and it's importance to practice, in a wonderful, direct, relatable, and inspiring way.

Powerful and beneficial

I treasure Geshe Kelsang Gyatso's teachings and am amazed (but not surprised) that he is offering this book for free so that countless living beings may benefit from the pure Dharma within it. I have many of his books and find the teachings in Modern Buddhism to be consistent with his other books, but there are some subtle, beneficial differences in this book that are not in any of his other books. In his books, he seems to be relating to people of the current time. He seems to constantly hone and clarify the teachings so that they are easy for modern people to read, understand, and put into practice. Because the eBook is free, I have found it to be very easy to "give" to others who might not otherwise have access to the book. Many people I know have found this book extremely helpful in their daily lives. I highly recommend it and rejoice that it is free for everyone.

So clear and practical

A truly clear and practical explanation of Meditation and Buddhism. This book has made it easy to gain experience with these meditations. The chapter on ultimate bodhichitta is incredibly profound! I have never seen a more clear explanation of Buddha's teachings on ultimate truth.
