Moki

Based in part on actual events, Moki recounts the incredible tale of a young teenager being kidnapped by a family of gypsies in the 1940s. The teen is forced to learn their ways and is quickly absorbed into the gypsy life quickly acquiring the skills of picking pockets and scamming the gullible at carnivals and in small towns across the Canadian Prairies. It's a story about coming of age, falling in love, confronting fear and danger, and eventually coming to terms with death. Ten years in the writing, this narrative is a first for Saskatoon author, Mark C. Behrend
