Publisher Description

A colorful little book to help children of mothers with a cancer diagnosis find reassurance.

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer on my 31st birthday, my son was only 1 ½ years old. I wanted a book for him to help him understand what was going on, feel reassured that everything will turn out for the better (to have a positive outlook) and a visualization to process the events that happened. Furthermore, I wanted to reassure him that any emotion he feels is OK and best when communicated. To make the identification even less threatening, I used animals instead of people. This book is especially geared towards children of mothers with a cancer diagnosis. You may find it applicable to other diseases as well since the disease and treatment/side-effects are more comparable to visual metaphors (e.g. instead of a tumor, the mommy fish has a lobster clamped to her tail).
