Monologium

"Exhortation of the mind to the contemplation of God–It casts aside cares, and excludes all thoughts save that of God, that it may seek Him."


Monologium is one of the proofs written by the medieval philosopher, Anselm of Centerbury. In it, he uses philosophical arguments to prove the existence of God. Next to his other well-known proof, Proslogium, this particular text relies on realism; questions of "good" and "existence" itself are the keypoints in this text.
