Can a rescue dog help two lost souls find love at Christmas?
All accountant Griffin Cole wants for Christmas is stability. After spending his childhood traveling the world with his one-hit wonder rocker dad, he loves his quiet and unremarkable life in Marietta. Then the beautiful Raelyssa Woods knocks on his door. Her bold spirit immediately turns his predictable life upside down, and suddenly Griffin wants to ask Santa for so much more.
Rae Woods loves running her café in the small Montana town she calls home. She specializes in comfort food because she loves spreading joy to everyone she meets—two-footed or four. But after she impulsively takes in a homeless dog she names Noel, her big heart lands her in bigger trouble when her landlord threatens to toss her out. Grasping at holiday straws, she remembers a cute accountant who owes her a favor—and she happens to know he’s got a fenced yard and hidden soft spot.
When Griffin reluctantly agrees to foster Noel, he inadvertently sets in motion several Christmas miracles that neither he nor Rae could have ever seen coming.
small town love story
I loved Noel the author did a great job at her personality just jumping off the pages. I really liked Rae she just had such a big heart and she just seems like someone you would love to know. Griffin has his problems but in this story he felt just as equal as a hero in this story. I really liked the small town story of this book it makes you picture yourself there. I liked the relationship with the brothers even though they didn't appear a whole lot they seemed like no matter what they were always there for each other. Over all this was a fun and quick read. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Heartwarming Christmas Romance
Oh how I love revisiting Marietta, Montana; especially during the holidays. The small town of Marietta does Christmas and romance in the best of ways. Their celebrations are fun and memorable for everyone. I can't tell you the number of couples that had special moments during the Stroll. And I got to be with them through all these amazing stories and authors that write about this incredible small but endearing town.
Raelyssa and Griffin.......
Wow, these two were definitely two sides of the same coin. While they both had big hearts, their personalities couldn't be more different. Rae was social, outgoing, generous, sweet, considerate and I could keep going with positive adjectives to describe how wonderful of a character she was in my opinion. Griffin, however, was not so outgoing. While he is quiet, polite and considerate, Griffin's personality is aloof, predictable and guarded. He has good reasons for not wanting to have a relationship with any woman. Griffin and his brothers grew up with a famous father who loved them but didn't know how to care for them AND be a famous singer so he sent his sons to live with a relative in Marietta. I haven't read about Griffin's brothers yet as his is the first book in the series but from this book, I can say he was not happy. I truly felt sad for him at times. He was so afraid to open up to love and even friendships. I won't go into the story because you will want to form your own opinions. I can tell you though, I enjoyed watching every one of Griffin's reactions to Rae. She was a breath of fresh air and so, so perfect for him. Rae was such a great person. Despite the tough times Rae has gone through, she was resilient and persistent. I think she just might be one of my top ten favorite female protagonists this year.
I truly recommend this heartwarming, memorable and adorable romance between two characters who absolutely deserved happiness. This is my honest and unbiased review and I thank you for taking the time to read it.
