A Montana man always protects the woman he loves
He discovered her during a Montana blizzard, freezing cold, impossibly vulnerable, a little boy by her side. Undercover DEA Agent Beck “Trigger” Cooke is astonished to recognize Ashley Swan—award-winning actress, famous beauty—and missing for over a year. To keep her and the child hidden from a sadistic madman, he secrets the pair away to his isolated home.
No longer a prisoner, and protected at Hope Ranch, Ashley recovers and learns the tall, tempting federal agent may have a dark past, but it hasn’t destroyed his sense of honor.
As they shed past roles and find common ground, Ashley and Trigger can’t help but fall slowly, carefully, in love. But danger still lurks outside the boundaries of Hope Ranch, for until her crazed captor is brought to justice, and Trigger’s undercover past is laid to rest, none of them will ever be truly safe…
Two trapped souls one held captive by unshakable guilt, the other by a kidnapper find comfort in each other in Ryan's thrilling first Montana Heat contemporary romantic thriller (spun off from the Montana Men series). Oscar-winning actress Ashley Swan has been missing for almost a year when she's found battered and unconscious by DEA agent Beck "Trigger" Cooke. Trigger, who was first introduced in Stone Cold Cowboy, has returned to Montana to heal from a gunshot wound and recover from living undercover as a drug dealer. He's shocked when he finds Ashley on his property along with an orphaned little boy named Adam. Sensibly, he keeps their whereabouts a secret until he uncovers the truth about their disappearances, but Ashley's location is eventually discovered by her kidnapper, who wants to get her back. To help her, Beck must step out of his private existence into her very public one, exposing himself to a powerful drug dealer who's bent on revenge. Beck's compassion for the troubled duo helps him to regain his true self, and his faith in Ashley helps her find the strength to fight back. Blackmail and bullets abound. Ryan's fans will applaud the action, embrace the newcomers, and eagerly await the next in the series.
So happy that Trigger (Beck) finally got his own story. Love this character and all of the twists and turns. I couldn't put this down until I finished. Jennifer Ryan's books are SO good!
Book 2 Beck "Trigger" and Ashley, Adam too
No not a threesome, but a little cute boy. This is suspenseful story and intriguing series.
