Next morning as she goes to the kitchen her cat speaks to her and blundering into the kitchen only to find jaimie having coffee and swoons. She comes to in the arms of a handsome middle aged man who explains he is a chryslot and apologises for the happenings explaining he was returning from thought mode and had no idea he caused her such trouble. unable to pronounce chryslot holly calls him christopher and a new fabulous life begins.
instant travel is no problem for christopher and together they tour the world, avoiding the cities now rent with discord over the growing threat of global warming, to the roof of the himalayers, the rift valley of Africa to riding thermals with condors over the andes and much more besides. Inevitably this close relationship builds romance, bewildering Christopher who has never experienced emotions. But as the world grows hotter with daily scary newspapers headlines demanding answers, chrostopher suggests they eavesdrop on a warming conference at the white house. The result is devastating. no solution to the growing hole in the ozone layer can be found, mankind is doomed to die of heat exhaustion or cancers from the now unprotected harmful rays from the sun.
holly pleads christopher to help, who loving her as deeply as he now does cannot refuse. but explains there is a cost, for he would have to position himself over the hole in the ozone layer to protect it from the suns rays to give it time to heal. though even with his help it will take eighty to one hundred and fifty earth years to complete. Holly realises she will be long gone before he can return and remembers a previous discussion about a proof scan which if successful would allow her to join him in his own etheric plane of existence. cristopher refuses, as the risk is too great, but secretly runs the scan in her place risking his death if unsuccessful. The result is positive and they decide for holly to call emergency services, saying she has had a stroke. then when the paramedics arrive to find her unconscious she will be put on life support while she joins Christopher and together they save the world.
