Kyung Sup Kwak earned his PhD from the University of California at San Diego and began his illustrious career at Hughes Network Systems in San Diego, followed by a tenure at IBM Network Analysis Center in Research Triangle Park, NC, USA. Since then, he has been an esteemed professor at Inha University in Korea, where he has made significant contributions to academia and research.Throughout his tenure at Inha University, Kyung Sup Kwak has held key leadership positions, including serving as the Dean of the Graduate School of Information Technology and Telecommunications and as the Director of the UWB Wireless Communications Research Center, a national IT research center, since 2003.He has also played influential roles in professional organizations, notably as the president of the Korean Institute of Communication Sciences (KICS) in 2006 and the Korea Institute of Intelligent Transport Systems (KITS) in 2009.Recognized for his outstanding achievements, Kyung Sup Kwak has received numerous awards and honors, including the Engineering College Achievement Award from Inha University in 1993 and service awards from the Institute of Electronics Engineers of Korea (IEEK) in 1996 and from the KICS in 1999. He has been honored with the LG Paper Award in 1998 and the Motorola Paper Award in 2000. Additionally, his contributions to UWB radio technology were officially commended by the Minister of Information &Communication, Prime Minister, and President of Korea in 2005, 2006, and 2009, respectively.His research excellence has been recognized with prestigious awards such as the Haedong Paper Award in 2007 and the Haedong Scientific Award in 2009. In 2008, he was appointed as an Inha Fellow Professor (IFP), followed by his appointment as an Inha Hanlim Fellow Professor in 2015.Kyung Sup Kwak's scholarly impact extends beyond journal publications, with 13 authored and co-authored books and book chapters to his credit. He has published over 400 peer-reviewed journal papers and has actively contributed to IEEE-related conferences as Technical Program Chair, Track Chair, and Organizing Chair.His research interests encompass a broad spectrum, including multiple access communication systems, mobile and UWB radio systems, future IoT, wireless body area networks, nano communication networks, and molecular communications.
