#1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan reaches new heights of passion and suspense in this thrilling novel that takes readers deep into the California backcountry, where a woman is tormented by visions of a killer.
It starts in her dreams. Hideous flashes from a nightmare only she can stop. Images of a murderer stalking the ones she cares about most…
Stella Harrison thought she got away from the traumas of her past. Running the Sunrise Lake resort high in the Sierra Nevada mountains has brought her peace, even though she doesn’t truly share her quiet life with anyone. Not even Sam, the hired handyman that notices everything and always seems to know exactly what she needs.
Stella doesn’t know anything about Sam’s past, but somehow over the last two years his slow, steady presence has slipped past her defenses. Still, she knows she can’t tell him about her recent premonitions. So far there’s been no murder. No body. No way to prove what’s about to happen without destroying the life she’s built for herself.
But a killer is out there. And Stella knows that this time she’ll do whatever it takes to stop him.
Bestseller Feehan (Lightning Game) expertly reels in readers for a rip-roaring thrill ride in this spectacular standalone. Badass heroine Stella Harrison, the daughter of a serial killer, possesses an intuitive gift for sensing other serial killers through her dreams and it appears that one's about to strike in Sunrise Lake, the tiny hamlet in California's Sierra Nevada Mountains where Stella owns a resort. For two years, strong, silent type Sam Rossi has been Stella's handyman and the closest thing she has to a confidant, but she's reluctant to tell him of her premonitions until he becomes a target. Now Stella and Sam race to outsmart the killer and as the body count rises, their relationship heats up. The pair slowly share the secret details of their lives with each other, including that Sam is a former fixer for the U.S. government with a notorious father of his own. Feehan ramps up the tension early and keeps it climbing until the very end, masterfully throwing out red herrings that will keep readers guessing. The riveting plot strikes a fine balance between romance and danger. Add in irresistible characters, and readers won't be able to turn the pages fast enough.Agent: Meg Ruley, Jane Rotrosen Agency.
Murder at Sunrise Lake
This is the first review I have ever written. I love Christine Feehan books. As usual, the storyline and characters she develops kept me reading long into the night. What I was missing was her lack of love scenes in this book. She always writes those scenes with such class and passion that they are never raunchy, always making me feel that the bond the lovers have is something very special. Because the scenes were left out I did not feel that was develop to its fullest and this book. Thus four stars instead of five.
Murder at Sunrise Lake
I’ve read the Carpathian, Shadow Rider & more of the novels by Ms. Feehan. I thought this was a great change of pace for her. This book was great. It kept me intrigued and I couldn’t wait to find out who the serial killer was. The majority of her other novels have quite a bit of detailed sex scenes, but this one did not; it was very refreshing that it was more romantic in nature. I hope she’s able to write a series with this book since there is such an opportunity with the circle of friends.
Awesome as always!
I always enjoy any book that Christine Feehan writes and this one was no exception. The story was fabulous, and there’s plenty of room to make it another series. Thank you so much for another great read Christine! 💕💕
