Murder Could Not Kill, first published in 1934, is a classic British 'golden age' murder mystery. From the dustjacket: "Reuben Foster, a young artist, while taking a walk, witnesses a murder committed in an automobile. He is too late to reach the murderer. In the car he finds a terrified girl bent over the dead body of her father. Gregory Baxter was a pen-name of John Ressich (1877-1937), author of several detective mysteries.
