Hilarity ensues in Valentine Beaumont's seventh action-packed adventure when the feisty beautician enrolls her staff in a team-building camp in California. Learning how to work together in harmony takes a backseat when a daring event is sabotaged, a secret surrounds sexy cohort Jock de Marco, and a team member from a famous salon is found dead.
Things get worse when Valentine is accused of murder. Was she targeted as a ploy? Did one of the celebrity stylists have it in for her?
Valentine has her work cut out for her, proving her innocence, handling her obnoxious employees, spying on Jock, dealing with Detective Romero's surprise guest, and finding a killer…all promising a perilous campout!
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
McFarlane's crafty seventh cozy featuring Massachusetts beautician Valentine Beaumont (after Murder, Curlers & Kites) takes the amateur sleuth out of state and out of her comfort zone. Valentine runs a hair salon in Rueland, a Boston suburb, and is entangled in an intense romance with former NYPD detective Michael Romero. Hoping to improve her bottom line, she brings three of her employees along to a team-building camp in California. There, someone sabotages a human slingshot ride intended as a trust exercise, and Valentine once again leaps into the role of investigator. Then one of the women attending the camp is murdered, possibly with a pair of Valentine's own thinning shears, and she becomes the prime suspect. To clear her name, she must draw on her detecting skills while keeping her rambunctious colleagues in check. McFarlane's own cosmetology expertise adds welcome authenticity to the gleeful and goofy proceedings. Fans of Sarah Strohmeyer's Bubbles Yablonsky series will eat this up. (Self-published)

Amazing!
Highly recommend this book. It has everything - comedy, murder, romance, and you can’t put it down until you find out who did it. All her books are hilarious and well written. You can’t help but love the characters and wish you could be with them fighting crime. Highly recommend!
Loved this book!!
I haven't enjoyed a cozy mystery like this book in awhile. If you have ever been to camp and enjoyed yourself, then you will love this book. If you have ever been to camp and embarrassed yourself (like during a team building, timed exercise game of frisbee, against other "dorm rooms," and was responsible for throwing the frisbee in the creek and losing the contest)... then this book is for you!
