Murder in a Cornish Alehouse is the third in the three-book Mistress Jaffrey Mystery Series. Rosamond, the estranged foster daughter of Susanna, Lady Appleton (the sleuth in the Face Down Mystery series) is grown up and married to Rob Jaffrey, the son of Lady Appleton's steward and housekeeper. The story begins when Rosamond and Rob travel to Cornwall to investigate the death of Rosamond's stepfather, Sir Walter Pendennis. It was ruled an accident, but was it?
