Dealmakers and death in high finance
A great read mixing the traditional mystery in the unusual settings of both Wall Street high finance and the early ‘90s. This reader enjoyed getting to know the office politics, the feeling of lunching in the cubes just off the trading floor, and all the quirky individuals who are either smartly or incompetently angling for the corner office. Add the layer of the ‘90s, which brings back the memories of the fashion, phone answering machines, floppy disks, and more nostalgia. The story then follows the witty Anne Scott who is sharply observant of all things financial as the go-to bond analyst. This is a fast-paced, cleverly plotted, enjoyable read.
