When Rosewood Community College Professor Stephanie Purder is found dead in Dean’s arms, Nicole is thrust into a dizzying murder case, with her beau identified as the prime murder suspect.
Stephanie Purder had a mysterious history, one that curiously overlapped Dean’s former FBI career—before she changed her name, scrubbed her history from the internet, and became a low profile instructor at the college.
As Nicole sets out to prove Dean’s innocence and reconcile the odd circumstances of the murder discovery, she begins to unravel a deep web of deception on the part of the murder victim and unknowingly places herself in harm’s way, all while the town shuns Dean and accuses Nicole of bias along the way.
Join Nicole, her warm and spunky friend Lia, and her lovable dog Ringo, as they once again embark on a clean cozy sleuthing adventure.
This is the fifth book in the Cannoli Cafe Mystery Series by Lizzie Benton, set in a small town in New Jersey, in close proximity to New York City and its gorgeous skyline.
Author’s Note: This book can be read as a stand-alone!
Too “syruppy” for my taste. “My dear friend” and too much repeating same info, who talks like that? Boring
Even for a short story, it was not good. Too many “old friend” comments and it seemed almost every sentence ended with an (!). It read as if a very young wanna be writer wrote it. A lot of repeating I think just to add words. Glad I didn’t pay for the book.
