Murder Stings: A Sheriff Elliott Mystery

Honey. Hornets. Homicide.

The smoke sits thick over Anderson, Montana. While a wildfire threatens to swallow the mountain town, a local honey shop owner is found dead beside her beehives. Her death looks like a horrible accident. The autopsy says otherwise.

The investigation that follows takes Sheriff Peter Elliott and his deputies from the streets of Anderson, deep into the burning forest, chasing the question of who Emily Sprague really was and who she pushed too far. In the process of untangling a web of jealousy and deceit, they uncover a town full of grudges. The question becomes not who had a reason to want Emily dead—there are many—but who wanted it badly enough to act.

Meanwhile, Emily's brilliant and eccentric brother Caleb has vanished into the smoke-choked Moonlight Mountains. Caleb knows secrets that make him the most important witness Peter has ever needed to find.

Peter is racing against time—and a shifting wind—to find the killer whose methods are as clever as they are deadly.
