But will the madman she encounters in the dark and dirty streets of Edinburgh stop her heart from beating forever, or will she find the courage to fight and allow herself to live again?
The life of a Knight has meant devotion to king and country. But when handsome Rory MacLeod meets Muriale McCullum, he begins to question everything.

Great
I loved that we got to know Braden’s character better in this book. I know he’s been around in the past books but more on the fringes of the stories. Samantha is a good strong heroine having gone through all that she has in the past. Of course I love Angus and I can’t wait to read Kade’s book and I hope a spin-off series withe the children is in the future.
I guessed who one of the villains was but totally surprised with the other that was a good twist.
I highly recommend this series and suggest that you read it in order. This book was very intriguing full of suspense, emotional heartbreak and romance.
Muriale is a shell of her former self. After the death of her betrothed Patrick she hasn’t the will to carry on. With her family at a loss of what to do they decide to send her and her sister Orabillis to Edinburgh with their Da. There they will meet thei aunt Forvelith (who I need more of) and knights Rory, Gavin and Alyn. Edinburgh is in an uproar with a rapist and murderer on the loose. Together they find themselves embroiled in the search for the fiend.
Yes this book is ultimately a romance but I think it more as two sisters finding their way to move forward. Each with different strengths and the possibilities of a different future then they saw for themselves.
I am so looking forward to Orabillis’ book. Who ever it is and I truly hope it’s Gavin, she will give him the quest of a lifetime.
