Vivian Mercy has been running from the past for so long she doesn’t know any other way of life. When a panicked call comes from one of her only friends she finds herself returning to the city of her nightmares where her dedication as a doctor and resolve to help others is put to the test.
Etain Vi’Aerlin has been watching over Noctem Falls for centuries. Sent by his queen he became a silent sentinel in the shadows helping Magnus whenever he could. While the sickness around him claims more lives he discovers what it feels like to be helpless, as an ancient warrior he doesn’t have the skills to fight this unseen enemy.
At any other time finding a mate would be cause for celebration, but Etain wants Vivian as far from Noctem Falls as possible, unfortunately, as the only doctor with an intimate knowledge of diseases she has to stay in the city, and finds herself working tirelessly to discover a cure in the middle of the deadly chaos sweeping the levels.
As Vivian’s past is revealed she finds herself not only combating the terrible virus but also the rebellious faction of the Founding Families. Etain vows to stand by her, even if it means abandoning the post assigned by his queen.
It’s a race against time to unravel the lethal secrets the virus is hiding before the city itself is lost forever.
For anyone looking for a series to take them away, this is it. I highly recommend reading it but you must start with book 1.
Since reading My Commander (Book 1, in series) I have looked forward to reading each book as it has come out. They have all introduced a new character to the world while involving the main cast of characters that you learn about in book one. My Angel is no exception. While this book is about ViVi and Etain finding their true love, they are still surrounded by the cast of characters we have known and loved thru the series, lead by Meryn. Once again I highly recommend this book and the series. I cannot wait for the next book.
Vivi and Etain were a good match. Although, I really didn’t care for Vivi. Can’t quite put my finger on it. I didn’t hate her, she just wasn’t my favorite. I did enjoy spending time with the group more. A lot of unanswered questions for me. I know that we’re racing against time, but now Meryn is hearing buzzing without explanation, premonitions that don’t really form and that visit to the cell accomplished what exactly. The story ends with another out of the blue assault like the last two. Almost like the author didn’t know how to wrap things up. The confrontation/ realization with the uncle was one option. And how about the uncle seeing Hal again. Missed opportunities. Hal was definitely a joy. Fits right in with the group. Still a great series, just a few bumps for me.
Another Amazing Book!!!
Alanea Alder has once again outdone herself! This book made you laugh and cry! It was the perfect amount of humor, romance, drama and hot sexiness! I loved ever word! Pure genius!
