So so....
I have read just about everything there is to read about Dennis Rader. I had just finished reading the book authored by his daughter and was very moved by this tragedy that befell she and her family. I was looking for something else to read about BTK when I came across this book. I have seen the author interviewed on specials about BTK so it caught my interest. Although much of the information given was very interesting, I felt the book was extremely poorly written. It read as though the author had tape recorded the book and then had it written verbatim. There were also way too many typos. Lastly, I was somewhat offended by some of the negative statements made in the book about Paula Rader. I also got the impression that the author was in some way gauging her own problems with Dennis Rader, her idiot boss, on an equal level to the pain and grief of BTK’s family. I can only imagine the absolute anguish and horror that his family has suffered! Whether or not she was his next victim is strictly conjecture. For me, Dennis Rader is the scariest, most evil man who has ever lived. I can only imagine how hard it was to work for and with him. He is the epitome of evil. I just felt there was a lot of self pity and bitterness in the book that may or may not be justifiable, especially in regards to Park City and it’s government. Although a mediocre interesting book, it left a foul taste in my mouth having read it on the heels of reading BTK’s daughter’s book.
