My Enchanted Window

From her traditional pueblo house overlooking New Mexico’s beautiful Middle Rio Grande Valley, the author watched a little covey of quail pass daily in front of her window, all in a line, like a platoon of tiny, feathered soldiers. She fell in love with them and, over time, this story was born.
