David Michael Hinnebusch wrote MY EYE! in 1972 at the age of 8, while living in Nairobi, Kenya, East Africa. His Father worked at his dissertation on African Linguistics, David took it upon himself to write as well. In the two years that his family lived in Africa, David wrote 2 full novels. "MY EYE!" was the 1st.
