Perfect for fans of the Highlander novels of Karen Marie Moning and Janet Chapman, Southern sass meets Highland heat in Maeve Greyson’s scintillating Highland Hearts romance.
With bedroom eyes and racetrack curves, Kenna Sinclair seems like just another pretty Kentucky girl. But she can also read minds, erase memories, and jump through time—a skill set that comes in handy when her matchmaking granny sends her back to thirteenth-century Scotland on the pretext of visiting her older sister. When she encounters the clan’s womanizing man-at-arms, Kenna instantly knows the gorgeous Highlander has only one thing on his mind. She vows to steer clear of him, but after a single electrifying touch, she finds that playing hard to get won’t be quite so easy. . . .
Bewitched by the first lass who could ever resist him, Colum Garrison will do anything to prove his devotion, even ask for Kenna’s hand in marriage—and swear off his chosen form of recreation until their wedding night. It’s a burden for a man of his thunderous appetite, but the sinful temptation is not his alone: Colum’s fetching bride-to-be is practically trembling with anticipation for a moment that can’t come soon enough. When she’s willing, Colum will be ready and waiting—with a love that lasts a lifetime.

a fun read with plenty of moments to smile

Another Sinclair sister heads off into the breech, as Kenna leaves her modern day Kentucky home to land in 13th Century Scotland, on the pretext of visiting her sister Trulie (her story was told in book 1, My Highland Lover). While you don’t need to read Trulie’s story, you wouldn’t go amiss doing so for some additional background.

Kenna is a thoroughly modern woman, and she’s not particularly thrilled about all this time jump will entail. Completely understandable – I don’t want to return to limited bathing, cooking over fires, limited medicines and superstitions and beliefs that are often archaic. Throughout the story, her observations are spot on, giving readers an insight into the time that sets the differences then and now quite solidly. And, Kenna is funny: she’s got a wicked sense of humor, she’s solidly comfortable with “teasing’ others and will stand up for herself without hesitation.

Colum is the clan’s Lothario, famed for his bedsports and lack of hesitation when faced with a new lass. As Granny had foreseen, Kenna will soon change Colum’s outlook, and he is completely unprepared for his new outlook on life, women and Kenna in particular. It’s even more amusing as Kenna wants little to do with anyone (she’s still a touch pouty about being sent back) and her plans for a man include marriage, not bedding before. With one casual touch, her senses are set aflame… and the games begin.

As in the first story, there is a villain and some conflict, but here the story of our couple does not take a back seat – Sinclair is grabby and determined to make life interesting for everyone else. With the development of the relationship, slow and steady is the name. Kenna is unwilling to ‘engage’ Colum in his favorite pastime, and to prove his devotion, he must forego his habit of chasing other women while they wait. Sweet and funny, with plenty of moments that butt modern sensibilities against the standards of old, this was a fun read with plenty of moments to smile.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Excellent story about time traveling women! Kenna is about to have her life change by traveling. We will experience action, mystery, humor and romance but mix well and let the fun begin! Read and enjoy this enchanting story as I highly recommend this book and the series!

Another Hit for Ms. Greyson!

I liked this second Highland romance of Ms. Greyson even better than the first one! The characters from the first story were in it (Gray, Trulie and Granny), as well as the secondary characters, Colum (Gray’s man at arms) and Kenna (Trulie’s sister). Again, this author mixed realism and humor with fantasy so that it was a very believable fiction and very enjoyable. I also liked this author’s description of Ronan’s character (at first described as a villain who later revealed himself as a hero of sorts) and am excited to realize that he will have his story in another of this author’s books.
