Publisher Description
Twelve-year-old Lucy Desberg is a natural problem-solver. At her family’s struggling pharmacy, she has a line of makeover customers for every school dance and bat mitzvah. But all the makeup tips in the world won’t help save the business. If only she could find a way to make it the center of town again—a place where people want to spend time, like in the old days. Lucy dreams up a solution that could resuscitate the family business and help the environment, too. But will Lucy’s family stop fighting long enough to listen to a seventh-grader?
In a starred review, Kirkus said this novel “successfully delivers an authentic and endearing portrait of the not-quite-teen experience,” and Booklist called it “a warm, uplifting debut.” Readers everywhere have responded to Lucy’s independence and initiative—not to mention her great style.

My Life in Okay and Not Bad
I wrote a review of his book before, I don’t know if it’s even up. A summary of my last review: I’ve been rereading books I liked when I was younger and I really like My Life in Pink and Green compared to others. I talked about how Lucy wasn’t such a great character but still better than others and more about the book and plot. After rereading it, I have kinda a more in-depth review in store. First of all, Sunny is great. I swear Sunny had layers! I’m not saying she’s an ogre (who are like onions and have layers; ehhh I explained the joke so it must have been bad) I’m saying that she was one of the best characters I have read in this category (of books for girls younger than thirteen, even if you’re older and you’re reading this, I don’t judge because look at me, I’m fourteen and rereading books I liked from when I was ten or eleven!! I seriously need help). Lucy was how I described her in the last review, she was interesting but not much personality, more like hobbies. See, authors of these kind of books get personality and interests mixed up. A personality like being funny or caring or confident is not the same as loving to give makeovers or rereading books for not your age group and writing super long reviews on them. Lucy has some personality like how she always knows what she wants, and really that’s more than a lot of other characters I’ve read about recently. This book is great for its category, and keeps you invested unlike *cough, cough* Love, Maybe? Which was super boring. I really liked how Lucy and Yamir “SPOILER ALERT” didn’t officially get together at the end, leaving room for more. Overall this book was good and you should read my other review 😋

My Life in Pink and Green
This book is very good, it shows us that we may be treated like we can't do anything but if you stand up for what you believe in you can do nearly everything. This book also shows that any girl can be and feel confidence and confidence goes a long way
