Cat Crawford just wants to be normal—or at least as normal as a daughter of Hollywood royalty can be. And it looks like fate is granting her wish: she's got an amazing boyfriend, Lucas; her fabulous cousin, Alessandra, living with her; and her dad planning his second marriage to a great future stepmom. That is, until her prodigal mother reveals on national television that she has something important to tell her daughter…causing a media frenzy.
Lucas Capelli knows his fate is to be with Cat, and he's worked hard to win her over once and for all. Unfortunately, Lucas has his own issues to deal with, including a scandal that could take him away from the first place he's truly belonged.
As secrets are revealed, rumors explode, and the world watches, Cat and Lucas discover it's not fate they have to fight if they want to stay together…this time, it's their own insecurities.

What to say....
I guess I will start this off by saying Rachel does it again! She caught me hook line and sinker from the first sentence, I didn't want to put the book down and I wouldn't have if it wasn't for my busy schedule.
Rachel has done an amazing job building characters throughout this series we all know in love Cat our female lead who started of the series in My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century when she traveled back in time to sixteenth century Florence. Now in My Not So Super Sweet Life Cat explores the chance of rekindling her relationship with her birth mother hoping to find closure to make her feel whole again. We get to see a new side of Cat we see her finally start to open up and you get emotionally attached to her through many twists and turns on her path of healing and closure. Cat is looking for a fresh start, she pretends to be strong by pushing people away and putting up walls to prevent heartbreak but she uncovers if her tactics really protecting her heart or causing more pain.
Caterina we finally meet the birth mother/monster who is extremely self centered and oblivious to everyone and everything not about her. She left Cat when she was around 5/6 years old and has had zero contact with Cat for the last 10 years everything Cat knows about her mom has came from what her dad has told her or the next headline on TMZ. Out of nowhere Caterina decides she wants to reconnect with Cat is her mom's intentions pure and she really does want to make up for lost time or is their some anterior motives?
Less and Austain are both back in MNSSSL but not as much they make several appearances throughout the story as background characters with Less and her wise advice and Austin's sarcasm and hilarious anecdotes they make the perfect friends in Cat's life.
Ransom is a new character on the scene with his bad boy rocker image. Sadly I can't tell you too much about him without giving spoilers so if you want together know Ransom you must read the book. What I will tell you though is I really like this character and hope we get to uncover some of his secrets in the future.
Lucas, Lucas, Lucas the one we all grow to love if you don't already. His sweet sensitive and protective self steals Cats heart along with the hearts of every reader, hahaha okay come on let's get serious although this may be true, he is defiantly thrown onto an emotional roller coaster. Not only does he have the pressure from his dad conflicting with what he really wants but he also is dating Cat who doesn't open up very easily at all. Lucas is very protective of Cat and doesn't want Cat to contact her mom because he doesn't trust her one bit and also can't bare the thought of Cat getting hurt.
What I thought
The story is perfect it flowed perfectly with the rest of the series and allowed the writer to end Cat's story without disappointing her readers. I loved the new addition of the mysterious Ransom. I wasn't sure I was going to like Lucas because I am team Austin all the way I mean how could you not be? he's charming, sarcastic, hilarious, and can surf what's not to love? but boy was I wrong Lucas is the the perfect piece to Cats puzzle they are just made for each other he cares about her the way every girl should be cared about.
Unfortunately I do have a pet peeve and I hate to criticize at all because I adore Rachel Harris but I had to be honest and that pet peeve is language I don't like it at all in books it seems irrelevant to me. although there was not a lot there was quite a bit, a little disappointing that MNSSL had more than any of her other YA books over all I didn't let it affect my rating because it may not be as big of a deal to others. Other than that it was fantastic, and a wonderful read that I recommend. Absolutely a 5 star worthy book!!!! As I said before Rachel you did it again!!!! <3
Ps I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
