Three young women make a pact in high school—
to always be friends and to one day make it big in Manhattan.
My Royal Showmance
Anika Fox knows exactly where she wants to be, and it’s not on the set of a reality TV dating show. She’s working her way up at the production company she works for and she’s close to achieving some of her dreams. The big boss just wants one thing from her. She’s got a potential problem with the director of The King Takes a Bride and she wants Anika to pose as a production assistant and report back.
As the king of a tiny European country, Luca St. Marten knows the world views him as one of the pampered royalty of the world. It couldn’t be further from the truth. His country is hurting and he’s right there on the front lines with his citizens. When he’s asked to do a dating show, his counselors point out that it could bring tourism back to Ralavia. It goes against his every desire, but he agrees.
When one of the contestants drops out at the last minute, Anika finds herself replacing the potential princess. She’s sure she’ll be asked to leave the first night, but Luca keeps picking her again and again. Suddenly she finds herself in the middle of a made-for-TV fantasy, and she’s unsure what’s real and what’s simply reality TV.

Love this book and the characters
Really was surprised by this book. Didn’t expect much and have discovered a new author! Loved it!
Reality dating show…
My Royal Showmance is book two in the "Park Avenue Promise" series. It is a reality dating show, romantic comedy. Anika and Luca's story is adorable with witty banter and all the feels. We get so many swoony moments and all the feels. We also get great side characters and their friendships. What an enjoyable read.
Kitty Bang did a fabulous job portraying these characters.
Laugh Out Loud Funny
I would like to thank Valentine PR and Blue Box Press for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. The opinions expressed are my own. My Royal Showmance by Lexi Blake is the second book in the Park Avenue Promise series. This engaging, laugh out loud funny novella is also part of the 1001 Dark Nights series. Anika Fox was working her way up the ladder in a production company. In order to be a spy for her boss, she reluctantly takes on the role of Production Assistant for a reality TV series about a European king who is looking for a queen. But when she arrives, one of the contestants has cancelled and she is thrust into her role. It turned out that the king is someone she met the night before (who failed to mention he was a King,) and he isn’t on board with letting her go on the first night or the nights that followed. The longer Anika remains a contestant of the show, the more she longs to win the ultimate prize. I absolutely loved this modern twist on the Cinderella story. I loved Anika, her strength of will and moral compass, the relationship she developed with the other contestants on the show, and her band of girlfriends. They went to great lengths to provide her with support despite Annika being sequestered on a closed set. King Luca St. Marten was dreamy, dedicated to his people, and nothing like the King Anika had been expecting. He was a man who didn’t believe in love, and yet he knew what he wanted. His problem was that he had to convince Anika he was worth the inconvenience of having to become a Queen to be with him. I loved the LGBTQ+ positive vibes that this story added with its’ secondary characters. I couldn’t put this book down, and am sure that if you are a reader of romcoms, you won’t be able to either!
