Publisher Description
Cassie is a highly intelligent young woman… Too much so for her own good! And she is as daunting as she is intriguing. Carl, the son of his father's second wife, would hardly say otherwise!
Carl is the exact opposite of his steady father. He is a player and a slayer. Afraid of nothing and no one. Except for Cassie when she asks him to introduce her to the pleasures of the flesh.
And when the situation gets out of control, it is too late to turn back, and the two lovers find themselves ensnared in forbidden passion. Forbidden by everyone: society, their parents, their friends.
But how to resist the desire that consumes them?

May be taboo for some but was amazing
This was the first time I read a book of this trope and I loved it. The character and world building was perfect. I love how the author described Cassie’s quirkiness. The love story the builds between her and Carl is amazing. The spice level in this book is high and I loved it. Highly recommend and can’t wait til more of Sophie’s books are published in English because her writing style is amazing.
Love the Dynamic between Cassie and Carl
Cassie comes home from college and sees her family and her stepbrother Carl. There is a ten year age difference so they didn’t see much of each other. Cassie and Carl start to become friends. Cassie is very intelligent but says whatever is on her mind so she’s socially awkward. Carl is a player so Cassie asked him to help her become more social. The more time they spend together the more they start to feel more than friendship. There is too much against them being anything more than friends. Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing Book.
Has potential
Ok, so, Cassie and Carl became step-siblings when his mom and her dad got together when she was 8 or 11. I don't remember exactly but their age-gap is ten years so they didn't grow up together and he was barely in the house. They never truly interacted other than when they met. In that aspect, their story avoids the thing people would find weird and awkward: 'we watched each other grow up in the same house.'
Now, in present day, Carl has come back during the celebrations of Cassie's 21st b-day. She and her father have a conversation about her want to move out. To which Carl offers an apartment he owns which he uses for rendezvous with ladies and intends to continue using as such when she's not there. Miss Cassie asks - as the virgin who's done being a virgin - Carl to teach her about sex. And their relationship went from there.
This story line has potential but it felt almost awkward at times. It was strange to read her asking him for sex tips (not sure why exactly; maybe it caught me off guard). There is a line that exists when books from other languages are translated. It either gets translated well or it doesn't. In this case, I can't compare them as I don't know or understand French so I can’t say much as how story was delivered in both accounts. Cassie and Carl were awkward with each other too and that makes complete sense as they don’t know each other. They’re step-siblings who are strangers to each other, even though they’re been steps for so long. That seeped right through when he would drop random comments about her, unintentionally. There was a silence so loud, you could hear crickets. Also penis and vagina during the smut??
Despite that, the story was good. It has potential that could be explored in the English-language market.
