Overcoming vast difficulties he succeeds, only to be sentenced to death by a U.S. Navy Courtmartial for mistakenly sinking the Japanese vessels prior to their attack. His claims to have invented a time machine are ridiculed. However, thanks to the vagaries of time travel, he escapes and returns to the present, no longer a virgin and greatly improved.

Excellent
The Japanese attack on Pearl harbor in 1941 was one of the most dramatic events in U.S. history. Supposev someone had known beforehand it was set to occur and tried to prevent it. This book describes such an event -- a friendless professor traveling back to December 1941 in his time machine takes a crack at it.. Is he hailed as a hero when he succeeds? Fat chance. He is about to b executed when the vagaries of time travel intervene and he escapes for a very happy ending. Must reading for science fiction fans.
Good Fun
This book was good fun--an amusing mix of history and sci fi.
