Brie Wilson has been a Deputy Sheriff in Monroe for years. She loves the small town of her birth and the laid back atmosphere that makes it a wonderful and safe place to live. But even small towns have their own quirks and problems. Outside a few exceptions at the station, she pushes daily for her efforts to be recognized by the men on the force. Still smarting over her last break up where her ex likened her to a man, she decides the safest route is to stick to herself and never get her heart broken again.

When these two selfless warriors find one another can they learn to lean on one another before the body count escalates? What does it say about them when it’s easier to face murder than the deepening feelings growing between them?

Loving the Darker side of Light

Soooo I actually LOVE this book more because it’s on the darker side of things (didn’t we just move to the land of eternal light? Lol). I think it was brilliantly written including the nuances in speech that although bother me in text (like cuz for cause) make sense for the characters they are written for. I hate when books are lighthearted just to stay lighthearted and I believe that My Warrior did it’s job to keep it’s theme, while still having that military atmospheric dry comedy. My Warrior is funny, dramatic, and all while sensible staying modern in a fantasy world. Seriously, everything you could ask for from a book and going into book 13 with hunger and curiosity 🙂 Alanea Alder is the writer goddess
